800 fresh sounds for Ableton Live’s Drift synth, 100 of each kind:

A full rack behind every sound

Every preset is an Instrument Rack built around Drift, with Live’s own Reverb behind it; 258 add a Delay, 174 Chorus-Ensemble, 146 Saturator and 131 Phaser-Flanger. In front of the synth, 179 presets have a Scale device (everything stays in key), 123 a Chord device (one key plays a whole chord) and 146 an Arpeggiator.

Every rack has macros for Cutoff, Resonance and Reverb, plus Delay, Chorus, Drive or Phaser where those effects are in the chain, so every preset is a starting point you can shape from one knob.

What you need

• Ableton Live 12 Standard or Suite.
• Mac or Windows.
• Nothing else: only Live’s own devices are used.

How to install

1. Unzip the download.
2. Put the folder LIL Mega Drift Pack into User Library › Presets › Instruments › Drift. On a Mac the User Library is usually in Music › Ableton › User Library, on Windows in Documents › Ableton › User Library. Make the Drift folder if it isn’t there yet.
3. In Live’s browser, go to User Library › Presets › Instruments › Drift › LIL Mega Drift Pack and drag any preset onto a MIDI track.
